We're getting very close to the release of At Their Mercy! Have you preordered your copy? If you're on my JWHMembersOnly Facebook group, I've posted their exclusive early FIRST THREE CHAPTER peek there. If you need more of Bastion, Ren and Swan NOW and aren't a member, go ahead and Join. We'd love you to be part of the community. And if that's not your jam, no worries. We still have a CHAPTER ONE sneak peek available for everyone. It's been updated to reflect the latest draft!
So what's the status of the book? Three edit rounds are done, and we've just started the final proofing. I hope to have it all done by November 1 for vendor upload, which means the print version should be available to order by the time of the November newsletter!
In the meantime, preorder links are below this graphic, as well as some exciting information about the GIVEAWAYS that will happen on the release date. Read onward...
Note: While it isn't eligible for preorder (as noted above), the print format will become available about 7-10 days before the ebook release. There are no plans for audio at this time.
For our November 15 release day, I'll be running some fun giveaways on the Facebook pages, but if you aren't on those, you can still be eligible for them. How? Just send me an email at storywitch@storywitch.com and say "I would like to put my name in the hat for Giveaway #... etc." You can ask to be in any or all of them. When it's time to randomly choose the winners, those who've emailed me will be counted right along with those who commented on the Facebook posts.
Now, before I tell you about the giveaways, let me tell you some additional exciting things that apply to 📚EVERY ONE OF THEM 📚🙌🏻🥳.
ONE - they will include winner's choice of TWO signed print books OR THREE ebooks OR a $25 AMAZON gift card.
TWO - they are open to international readers. Yes, ALL of them.
THREE - they will include this fabulous Beauty and the Beast tote bag.
The animated movie will always be one of my favorite romantic indulgences. Don't even talk to me about that live action nonsense (though I like Emma and Dan in many other things).
Finally, additional surprise items, plus assorted swag from me and other authors, might be tossed into each giveaway package.
Ready to see what's being offered in addition to all of the above? Here we go...
So for my vampire lovers, I have a ceramic pink coffin (appx 7 in by 5 in), a ghoulishly cute bookshop clicker (the different features push down and "click;" fun for fidgety fingers), and a purple articulated bat. When you hold him, the way he moves looks so lifelike, you can't put him down. You will NOT stop playing with him. Also included is a "Reading Is My Jam" magnet.
Are you all about the romance? This giveaway has a ceramic planter that can also be used as a container or whatever you wish. There's a heart-shaped vase, a "smut book club" pin and black cat book lover earrings. Also included is a green dragon sleeping on a stack of books!
Like your fantasy with a touch of darkness? Three purple mer-fairy cards (with a very Mina-esque vibe to the middle one, I think - Mina from A Witch's Beauty) for framing, plus a gleaming red and gold dragon napping on the moon, an ouroboros infinity pendant necklace, and a cute black dragon magnet.
Remember Ellora's Cave, the independent small press that took erotic romance to the next level? When I was cleaning out my writing room, I discovered I had this really nice zippered binder and tote bag, PLUS the author cover card deck they offered at the 2006 Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Daytona Beach. The box has a little wear, but the cards are still in great shape. You'll be amazed at all the authors who were a part of EC back then. Also in this prize package is a gorgeous blue and purple dragon sleeping on a moon, and another bookshop clicker with candles and a black cat sitting on books in the window.
So those are your giveaways! Email me today and tell me which one(s) you want to win. Remember, for those of you on Facebook, I'll also be offering these on release day. Don't worry; if you're like me and can't remember if you already emailed me, you can still leave a comment. I'll sort it out when it's time to do the random winner selection.
Don't forget, At Their Mercy is Book 6 in the Mistresses of the Board Room series, but all of the books can standalone. Introduce yourself to the Mistresses or enjoy a re-read while waiting for release day!
IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING: As explained in prior newsletters, the reason Bastion's story doesn't fit with the Domme driven arcs in the rest of the series is because the MBR world loosely parallels the Knights of the Board Room series (which kicked off the MBR). Janet, who was Matt's admin and a Mistress, was the only Domme story in the KBR. Likewise, Bastion's book is the only Dom story in the MBR, and he is Rosalinda Thomas's executive admin. The muse likes her symmetry, lol.
THANK YOU ALL for continuing to spread the love of my work to fellow readers, through reviews and discussions with friends, family, bookclubs, on social media platforms and more. Reader recommendation is the best kind of marketing an author can have. So thank you - it's ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS appreciated.
Now on to this month's 📚📚📚 FOUR FEATURED EBOOKS!📚📚📚
FEATURED EBOOKS! CLICK THE COVER OR TITLE TO DOWNLOAD
Melanie's entire Secret Enchanters series (plus two full length bonus books) is currently FREE in KU. It has powerful men and women - a CEO, a cop, and a scientist - living among ordinary humans, protecting their secret and finding their fated mate. Reluctance's steamy office blackmail dark romance serial read features the office ice queen and the intrigued IT guy determined to teach her a molten hot lesson (read the sample, it will pull you right in, trust me, lol). Joel is giving us a sexy male angel hero who clashes with a demon seductress using sex to steal souls. Mariah offers a heroine agent trying to catch a dangerous soul thief with the help of her vampire partner, who steadies her hand in battle and tempts her heart in the quiet after. Enjoy!

2023 CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
No conferences this year, but look under the Extra Stuff section for ways to get a signed book or swag from me anyway!
Want a Kindle signature? My books are listed at the Authorgraph site, so if you'd like a "Kindlegraph", send me a request! Just go to Authorgraph.com, put Joey W. Hill in the search line, and it will pull up my books, with a "Request Authorgraph" button beneath each.
Want a signed bookplate for your print book and a bookmark? No need to be bummed about not seeing me at a book signing. Just shoot me an email at storywitch@PROTECTED with your mailing address and the title(s) of the book(s) for which you want a signature, and I'll send you personalized bookplates anytime, free of charge. And I always send it with a signed bookmark!
HAVE YOU CHECKED THE AUTHOR'S WEBSITE?
I am ALWAYS delighted to hear from my readers, and I never mind answering your questions. However, about 90% of the general questions I receive on email can be quickly answered on my website, www.storywitch.com. And the cool thing is you get your answer in the time it takes you to do a couple clicks, versus having to type up your question and send it to me, then wait for me to emerge from my writing cave and check my email.
A lot of authors experience this now. Because we have so much more of a presence at FB, Twitter, and the like, it's easy to forget that most authors still maintain a website where you can quickly get info. On my site, you can not only find BLURBS and FREE EXCERPTS for every book I've published, you can find SERIES ORDER, including recommendations on which ones can stand alone or need specific titles to be read first. Under the In the Works page, you'll find information about UPCOMING RELEASES and what's percolating (the popular "will you ever write a book about so-n-so" question would be answered there).
Just go to my website, storywitch.com, and enjoy your visit. It is specifically and deliberately designed not to be flashy or confusing. Just look at the drop down menus at the top for what you're seeking.
Want a SIGNED BOOKMARK? I have seven beautiful bookmarks, each design representing one of my series: Knights of the Board Room, Nature of Desire, Vampire Queen, Arcane Shot, Daughters of Arianne, Mistresses of the Board Room, and Naughty Bits. You can look at them here (click on the one you like for a larger view).
Just shoot me an email at storywitch@storywitch.com with your mailing address and tell me which bookmark you want. I'll send you two of that design - one for you and one to share! And yes, I WILL mail bookmarks to international readers. NOTE: some of these show previous cover editions, but hopefully that doesn't detract from their appeal!
Want a SIGNED BOOK? Email me at storywitch@storywitch.com with 1) what book you want, 2) your mailing address, and 3) if you want me to personalize it to a particular name (Mary, Marie, Marissa, etc), or no personalization, just a signature and a cheery note. I'll send you an invoice and, once that's squared away, the book will be on its way to you!
Want a SIGNED BOOKPLATE? Want a bookplate for your favorite JWH book(s)? Just email me at storywitch@storywitch.com with your mailing address, the title(s) of the book(s), and I'll send you personalized bookplates anytime, free of charge. I always send it with a signed bookmark!
Want to read BONUS CONTENT STORIES revisiting my characters? I have over a dozen FREE novellas/shorts with easy BookFunnel download links. You'll find them all under the Cantrips (Vignettes) menu item on my website.
Want me to visit your BOOKCLUB? I'm available for online bookclub meetings and even sometimes in-person clubs, within a reasonable geographic range. Don't hesitate to ask! Just email me at storywitch@storywitch.com.

DIDN'T GET A RESPONSE?
Responding to my readers, and doing so in a very timely manner (within 24-48 hours), is extremely important to me. So if you have sent a communication to me in any medium noted above and have not received a response, a technical glitch has occurred. Either your communication did not get through, or my response did not reach you. If you suspect that's the case, use one of the alternative methods to send me a "Hey, Joey, I sent you a note through email (or social media platform, etc). Did you get it?" message, and we'll make sure we sort it out. I will never intentionally ignore my readers!
ARE YOU A NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBER, BUT YOU'RE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING MY NEWSLETTER PAST YOUR SPAM FILTER? - Whenever I issue a newsletter, I will also post about it on the social media platforms mentioned above, to ensure it reaches the widest number of people possible. So if you're following me on any of them, you'll get a heads up. Or you can put https://storywitch.com/newsletter/?latest as one of your Favorite links. You can click on it anytime to see if a new newsletter has been released. I try to get a new issue out during the first 7 days of every month.
HELP ME WITH FOLLOWS/REVIEWS
NEVER an obligation, but when you follow or review me on Bookbub, Amazon or both, it increases my books' visibility and marketing options on those sites. And in return, you get a heads up about releases and sales!
Thank you so much for your support of my work!
