The full draft of Tiger and Skye's story is written, and the first of my four edit rounds starts this week. However, I've had so much fun writing this so far, I went ahead and polished up the first chapter for you all. AND I have preorder links if you'd like to make sure Skye and Tiger's story is in your hands on their November 30 release date.
These two have trouble keeping their hands off one another. Some couples have more patience when it comes to giving me time to integrate the story arc with their desire to play, but this is NOT one of those couples, lol. There will be plenty of steamy chapters in this book.
To keep up with Tiger's biker interests, I've also been watching YouTube videos about motorcycles - not only how to ride them but how to maintain one, and what it's like to visit one of the many rallies that happen annually. Yes, there's a fun scene in the book where Tiger shows Skye how to do a tune up on a bike. When this part of the book is ready, I can guarantee someone with mechanical skills (definitely not me) will be beta reading it!
I've also been doing research on what it's like to live as a deaf and/or mute person (Skye is mute), which has made me add learning American Sign Language to my bucket list. What a beautiful way of communicating! It's a form of dancing which integrates gestures, facial expressions and body language - a great mesh for the sensual world of erotic romance. My sister-in-law is fluent in ASL--she's a teacher who has been an ASL interpreter, as well as worked with special needs children. She was recently visiting my mother-in-law down here at the beach, and we spent a great afternoon on an oceanfront balcony discussing the million questions I had. She's agreed to be one of my resources during the final rounds to verify I have it all as right as possible.

While I'm working on editing At Her Call, I'm also outlining and making notes for Brick and Les's story from the Nature of Desire series. Just like Tiger and Skye, Brick and Les have a lot to tell me. Since trips are my primo brainstorming time, I already had a good amount of notes I recorded on my way to and from the Norfolk SASS con in late July. However, on my way to visit my Aunt Linda in Virginia last week, they let me know they weren't done. I have a bunch more notes to transcribe, which is always a good sign that it's going to be a love story worth writing.
As a reminder, Les is Thomas's sister from Rough Canvas (she was pursuing her medical degree), and Brick was recently introduced as a high school friend of Rory's in In His Arms. Brick is a firefighter and arson investigator. Every time I hear Alan Jackson's "Country Boy," I get an itch to write the prologue for this book, which will be kind of a prequel/early years scene where Brick is visiting Les at college.

Responding to my readers, and doing so in a very timely manner (within 24-48 hours), is extremely important to me. So if you have sent a communication to me in any medium noted above and have not received a response, a technical glitch has occurred. Either your communication did not get through to me, or my response did not reach you. If you suspect that's the case, use one of the alternative methods to send me a "Hey, Joey, I sent you a note through email (or social media platform, etc). Did you get it?" message, and we'll make sure we sort it out. I will never intentionally ignore my readers!
