VAMPIRE'S SOUL - BOOK TRAILER, PREORDER LINKS AND SEPTEMBER 30 RELEASE DATE!
It's almost time! Just a couple more weeks and the story of our loner vampire and his wolf-shifter servant will be available. We're so excited about it, we did our first BOOK TRAILER about these two. Click HERE to view it. You can also go to the website book page to get this, as well as the PREORDER BUY LINKS and FIRST CHAPTER. There's an additional audio option where I read the first chapter to you.
Just as a reminder, these two made their first appearance in Night's Templar and a subsequent guest visit in Medusa's Heart, but you don't have to have read those books to enjoy their story. However, some familiarity with the Vampire Queen series world would probably be good, like perhaps the first two books, or the standalone book 4, Beloved Vampire.
On that note, First Book of Series at Lowest Price Ever - If you haven't yet read my Vampire Queen series, now's a great time to start. Vampire Queen's Servant, Book 1, is being offered at $2.99 in all the ebook formats from U.S. vendors. Some of the international sites are also featuring discounts. This is the lowest I've ever seen the publisher offer this book in ebook. Mark of the Vampire Queen, the second book, also has a lower price than usual, at $5.99, and is the continuation of Jacob and Lyssa's story.
Party, Party, Party - On Saturday, September 30, there will be a Vampire's Soul release day celebration on the JWH Members Only Facebook page. Along with the admins, I'll be doing a bunch of posts throughout the day, sharing excitement/thoughts about the book, and doing some fun giveaways. Drop in and play with us a while!
Lovely Pictures - Don't forget Cai and Rand have their own Pinterest page for concept shots of their characters and other story features. Click here.
DAUGHTERS OF ARIANNE RE-RELEASE
So, did you realize the Daughters of Arianne are back? Yep, July 31 A Mermaid's Kiss, A Witch's Beauty and A Mermaid's Ransom were re-released at $4.99 ebook prices (they're also available in print). You can find all the vendor buy links here, along with excerpts, blurbs and new beautiful cover art.
"But," you say, "I'm just not that into mermaids. Or angels." Fair enough. But I will mention that many of my readers who have fallen in love with these books weren't fans of the mermaid/angel genres. They tried this series because they've realized, regardless of genre or subject, the character-driven, emotionally intense love story remains the central core of all my work. As a result, many of the fan mails I have received about this particular series begin with: "I can't believe I waited so long to read these books!" Still not convinced? Some other incentives to check these out:
1) Tie-in to Nature of Desire series: If you loved Marguerite in Ice Queen/ Mirror of My Soul (Books 3 and 4 of the Nature of Desire series), the hero of A Witch's Beauty is her twin brother David, who died young and reappears in this book as a fully grown up (and very hot) angel.
2) Tie-in to Vampire Queen series: Do you like my vampires? The third book in the trilogy, A Mermaid's Ransom, has a half-vampire/half Dark One hero, which necessitates a key appearance by Lyssa and Jacob of the Vampire Queen series.
3) Pretty Pics: The Daughters of Arianne have their own Pinterest page with inspirational pics as well as teaser jpgs. If you are already a fan of the series, please feel free to SHARE those teaser jpgs and cover images far and wide!
4) A free short: Finally, there is a free vignette revisiting Mina and David of A Witch's Beauty. It's available on my website HERE. While it may have a few spoilers, reading "Dark and Light" is a cost-free, no risk way to experience the tone and direction of these stories.
GUESS WHO'S COMING TO THE JWH MEMBERS ONLY FACEBOOK PAGE - MARIANNE MOREA!!
In honor of Vampire's Soul release, Marianne Morea, who has authored both vampire AND shifter books, will be joining me in October for a fun kind of Facebook chat. During the first half of the event, we'll be talking to each other about vampires, shifters, the writing process, pet peeves, etc. During the second half, we'll open it up to Q&A. Haven't had the pleasure of reading Marianne's work? One of her books is a FREE read, Hunter's Blood. Just look for the link to it on her home page HERE. You can also browse through all her paranormal offerings here. I'll keep you posted on the date of our FB chat, but all you need to do prior to that night is Join the JWHMembersOnly Group, if you haven't already. The event will be held on that main page. We'll see you there!
INTERVIEWS, ACCOLADES AND KIND WORDS
Top Vampire Series - Just in time for the release of Vampire's Soul, I received a wonderful nod from Once Upon An Alpha, recommending my Vampire Queen series! Since this was a reader-generated list, and we all know readers are the best source of info for good books, I've added to my own TBR list from the recommendations at this link, and am so flattered to have my series included among them.
Interview - If you'd like to learn a little more about me, AND find a great new book discussion group on GoodReads, check out the interview that Some Like It Hot posted recently HERE. Nik asked some great questions, and I had the pleasure of discovering a wonderful new group that loves spicy hot books.
Medusa's Heart, Golden Flogger Award Winner - Medusa's Heart won the BDSM Writers' Conference Golden Flogger Award for Paranormal BDSM Romance. Yay!! Here's a list of all the winners so you can add to your TBR list. Some fabulous talent there!
Reader Feedback/Reviews - I love getting feedback/reviews from readers, and sometimes they say things I just have to repeat, because they tickle me so much. I've been told by some readers that they measure the quality of my books by my capability to make them cry (in the right way, not the sad, depressed way), so this quote from Aisha of Bewitching Bibliophile gave me an ear-to-ear grin: "Bring tissues, because I shed a tear or two throughout the story; Joey must be paid in tears..." She did a wonderful review of Honor Bound, Book 3 of the Knights of the Board Room.
Thank you all for reading my work!
STATUS ON KNIGHT NOSTALGIA?
KNIGHT NOSTALGIA! - Now that I've put Vampire's Soul to bed, time to turn my attention fully to my last project of the year. Knight Nostalgia is a three-novella anthology of new Knights of the Board Room series "revisits." Here's the summary on what the three novellas will be about.
Conqueror's Fantasy - many people have talked about wanting to get deeper into the head of Matt Kensington, and spend more time with him and Savannah. Years ago, in a character interview, Matt mentioned that he was going to take Savannah to a private island resort which was dedicated to BDSM lifestylers. On their last night there, he brings to life a specific, long-held fantasy of Savannah's.
Girls' Day Out - In Hostile Takeover, Ben made a serious misstep. While I can't remember where it was proposed, somewhere along the line it was suggested he make amends by taking all the K&A women out for a shopping trip. This will be what happened during that trip.
The Card Game - Some of you have pointed out that Dana and Rachel never had their "board room" initiation as Savannah and Cass did. In The Card Game, the men decide to hold a late night poker game around the table, with two very attractive centerpieces who have to do whatever the man who wins each winning hand commands. With some very interesting results...
The one drawback to getting this anthology out as close to the end of the year as possible is that I won't have a chance to do my annual holiday free vignette. But hopefully I'll have time to do one sometime in 2018, a delayed but very sincere thank you to my readers for all their support.
CONTACTING ME - Remember, you can find me online through my website email contact link or email me directly at storywitch@PROTECTED. You can also leave a question for me under my Author Profile on GoodReads. I'm on Facebook under Joey W. Hill, and @JoeyWHill on Twitter. My Pinterest boards related to the books are here.
Thank you all so much for your support of my work!
DIDN'T GET A RESPONSE? It seems those darn online filters are becoming more and more aggressive. And don't get me started on the many ways Facebook plays tricks with my messages, lol. But responding to my readers, and doing so in a very timely manner (within 24-48 hours), is extremely important to me. So if you have sent a communication to me in any of the mediums I've mentioned - direct email, FB, GoodReads or Twitter - and have not received a response, a technical glitch has occurred. Either your communication did not get through to me, or my response did not reach you. If you suspect that's the case, use one of the alternative communication methods to send me a "Hey, Joey, I sent you a note through email (or FB, or a tweet, etc). Did you get it?" message, and we'll make sure we sort it out. I will never intentionally ignore my readers!
While you can subscribe to the newsletter through my website, you may find your email host isn't letting it through, thanks to broad spam-blocking mechanisms that don't separate communications you've specifically requested to receive from those you haven't. Regrettably, there's not a lot we can do on this side if the newsletter is hitting an email filter that is bouncing it without notifying either one of us. However, we do have some things you can try that seem to have worked for folks:
FIRST - make sure the newsletter email is part of your contact list: "newsletter@PROTECTED."
SECOND - Check whatever filters you do have for spam and the like and see what methods are available to you to ensure an email like this gets through. My newsletters have a plethora of links in them to make it easy for you to find the things I'm talking about, but the flip side of that is it can get the newsletter tagged pretty quickly as spam.
THIRD - Contact me at newsletter@PROTECTED and ask to be unsubscribed. Once we confirm with you that has been done, rather than us sending you an invitation (which can bounce for the aforementioned reasons), we have you go in to the website newsletter link and subscribe yourself - here's the link to that. If it works, you'll get an automatic invitation to confirm, and then, fingers crossed, you should be set.
FOURTH - If none of this works or all of it is just too frustrating and you want to say "screw it!" (and I can hardly blame you, lol), then just make sure you've liked my FB page or are following me on Twitter. This is because EVERY MONTH I will post the latest newsletter link on both of those, to make sure it reaches the widest number of people possible! It's the same link monthly, so if you want, just put http://storywitch.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/archive/storywitchnews/newest/ as one of your Favorites. You can click on it anytime to see if an update has been posted. I post a new one every 30-45 days, give or take a few days.
