Happy holidays, everyone! I hope I show this year round, but especially during this time of year, I want you to know that you--my readers--are the reason I can do what I do. Not only do you buy my books, you help to spread the word about them with tireless enthusiasm. Reviews, tweets, FB posts, word-to-mouth with friends and's the best and most vital kind of marketing an author can receive. Plus, throughout the year your encouraging notes to me provide smiles, laughter and a wellspring of moral support. Your many kindnesses make the sucesses all the sweeter, and the disappointments far easier to bear. So thank you a hundred times.

My 2016 Christmas gift, a free novella, is now available on the JWH Connection fan forum for download in all the popular formats under the Vignette section. Doms and Sisters revisits the Knights of the Board Room, as Cass finally gives Lucas his titillating "sisters" fantasy, the fantasy Marcie embellished with some of her own imaginings during the course of the series. And of course Ben will be there to fully participate, because Marcie isn't doing anything like this without his presence and input! Happy reading!

You can now own ALL the vignettes in print and ebook compilations. If you're a fan of these short story and novella revisits of my characters, I'm happy to announce Cantrips: Volumes 1 and 2 are available in all the popular ebook formats and in print. Just click on the Cantrips link noted above or click the beautiful Volume 2 cover in the sidebar to see the options. If you buy the print book off Amazon, you can also get the Kindle version for free as part of the Kindle Match program. The individual stories will continue to be offered for free on the JWH Connection fan forum, never fear. This is just a perk to those who've always wanted to have them all together. As I write more free vignettes (which I fully intend to do), we'll release a new volume each time we have a sufficient amount of vignettes to create one. I'm so pleased to offer you these in this way, and hope you'll enjoy revisiting your favorites again and again.

They're here! The Nature of Desire series book, Worth the Wait, as well as three more of my Knights of the Board Room books -- Afterlife, Hostile Takeover and Soul Rest, are now available from Audible! I was delighted to get this tweet from a reader the week Hostile Takeover came out: "Thanks to Joey W. Hill, I am now a HUGE fan of housework because, while I do stuff around the house, I listen to her audio-books!" Here's the link to all the audio titles on Audible and you can find these through Amazon as well.

Have you checked out the five gorgeous mugs we're now offering to celebrate the books? The designs feature Hostile Takeover of Knights of the Board Room, Natural Law of Nature of Desire, Night's Templar of the Vampire Queen books, and Make Her Dreams Come True (the first erotic romance I ever wrote). There's also a Joey W. Hill signature mug. These are for sale on my website HERE. Just follow the directions to order your preference.

I'm well into the first draft of Regina and Marius's story and enjoying the ride. Truly Helpless will be the next book of the Nature of Desire series. If you'll recall, Marius is our recurring troublemaker in the series, the sub who will not be tamed. But Mistress Regina has some ideas on that. She first appeared at the auction in Branded Sanctuary. If you're following me on FB, Twitter and/or the JWH Connection forum, stay tuned for teasers, tidbits, excerpts and other inside peeks as this story unfolds. The muse has already sprung a few surprises on me as to why Marius is the way he is. And the more I get into Regina's character, the more I'm liking her and the unexpected strategy she takes with Marius.

I love writing FemDomme/alpha male sub stories, because the give and take between them is always spirited, a sexy tug of war between a man's view of himself as protector and his innate craving to submit to a woman. The dialogue flows like a tennis match (yes, I used to play and loved the game - grin) and the sexual chemistry builds so easily. Can't wait to share more of their story with you all! In the meantime, I've started a Pinterest board with some initial pics to guide my descriptions of the characters. Want to see? Click HERE. Remember you can see all the boards I've created for past books and other topics here.

In one of my recent GoodReads blog posts, I discussed the sacred nature of intimacy, the way I like to see it explored in erotic romance and embraced in real life. Find it HERE and see what you think. If you want to keep track of what I discuss from week to week, you can bookmark this link and/or follow me on GoodReads to receive the weekly update. You're always welcome to leave comments, as well as suggestions for future topics.

Many thanks to all of the wonderful folks and reviewers who have given Medusa's Heart a try and reported enjoying the journey! One Amazon reviewer wrote: " brings depth, warmth and compassion to her wonderful, unusual stories, drawing you into a world which studies the human spirit and the nature of love, in settings of myth, the paranormal and the "ordinary" world (though her writing is never ordinary nor are her characters)." Another wrote, "Medusa's Heart is well written, overwhelmingly tender, and tells the true beauty of Medusa inside-out." And She Hearts Books on GoodReads says " has taken the legend of Medusa and made it into this sizzling hot love story as only she could do."

This is a standalone title, not connected to any of my existing series, and it is more BDSM-lite than my other books. That was not planned; John Pierce and Medusa had some major trust issues to overcome, so JP had to proceed a little more slowly with Medusa. You get some awesome guest appearances in this book, however: Cai and Rand of Night's Templar show up, as do Clara and Marcellus from the Daughters of Arianne series. Plus there's a whole new cast of intriguing characters that come in during Part 2 of the book. If you haven't yet taken the plunge, I hope you'll enjoy JP and Medusa when you do.

"I have a question." Answer: "Have you checked the author's website?"

I am ALWAYS delighted to hear from my readers, and I never mind answering your questions. However, about 90% of the general questions I receive on email can be quickly answered on my website, And the cool thing is you get your answer in the time it takes you to do a couple clicks, versus having to type up your question and send it to me, then wait for me to emerge from my writing cave and check my email.

A lot of authors experience this now. Because we have so much more of a presence at FB, Twitter, fan forums and the like, it's easy to forget that most authors still maintain a website where you can quickly get info. On my site, you can not only find BLURBS and FREE EXCERPTS for every book I've published, you can find SERIES ORDER, including recommendations on which ones can stand alone or need specific titles to be read first. Under the In the Works page, you'll find information about UPCOMING RELEASES and what's percolating (the popular "will you ever write a book about so-n-so" question would be answered there).

Just go to my website,, and enjoy your visit. It is specifically and deliberately designed not to be flashy or confusing. Just look at the drop down menus at the top for what you're seeking.

CONTACTING ME - Remember, you can find me online through my website email contact link or email me directly at storywitch@PROTECTED. You can also leave specific questions for me under the Got a Question for Joey section of the fan forum to be sure I see any comments you make to me on the forum that require a response. While I'd love to have time to follow all the threads and pick up your questions from them, I'm often under deadline and can only regularly monitor the Got a Question thread.

You can also leave a question for me under my Author Profile on GoodReads.

In short, I love to hear from you! I'm on Facebook under Joey W. Hill, and @JoeyWHill on Twitter. I also have Pinterest boards related to the books -

Thank you all so much for your support of my work, always!

SEXY AND SASSY SIGNING, hosted by Literary Gossip - July 6-7, 2018, Norfolk, VA

I would love to see any and all of you! I'll keep you posted when 2018 signups go live, but visit the link noted for details on the 2017 signing in Baltimore, if you'd like to attend. I understand the 2016 event was fabulous! It was hosted by Literary Gossip, and if you are familiar with the energy and enthusiasm of the Literary Gossip ladies, I'm sure hearing that it was a resounding success for readers and authors will not be a surprise.

I've been scaling back to just 1-2 conferences a year for the past couple years, and now that I'm turning my focus more squarely on self-publishing and the best ways to promote those projects, my husband and I have agreed that 2017 will be a stay-at-home year. But I'm looking forward to this 2018 con. How 2016-2017 go in terms of sales and other promotional opportunities will determine if I do more than SASSE in 2018, but I definitely hope to get the chance to see as many of you as possible! But you know even if I'm not at conferences, I'm never further away than the nearest email, FB, Twitter, GoodReads or JWH Connection forum interaction. Staying in contact with you all keeps my creative batteries charged!

It's December, the season of giving, which means my annual charity giveaway! Send an email to storywitch@PROTECTED and tell me your preferred charity. By the next newsletter, I'll do a random drawing to pick a winner and that winner's charity will get a $50 donation. This is probably my favorite giveaway of the year, because I like learning about all the wonderful organizations my readers support to make the world a better place. So email me today!

While we still have the option through my website to subscribe to the newsletter, in an effort to become ever more aggressive about spam, many email hosts/filters now bounce it. Regrettably, there's not a lot we can do on this side if the newsletter is hitting an email filter that is bouncing it without notifying either one of us. However, we do have some things you can try that seem to have worked for folks:

FIRST - make sure the newsletter email is part of your contact list: "newsletter@PROTECTED."

SECOND - Check whatever filters you do have for spam and the like and see what methods are available to you to ensure an email like this gets through. My newsletters have a plethora of links in them to make it easy for you to find the things I'm talking about, but the flip side of that is it can get the newsletter tagged pretty quickly as spam.

THIRD - Contact me at newsletter@PROTECTED and ask to be unsubscribed. Once we confirm with you that has been done, rather than us sending you an invitation (which can bounce for the aforementioned reasons), we have you go in to the website newsletter link and subscribe yourself - here's the link to that. If it works, you'll get an automatic invitation to confirm, and then, fingers crossed, you should be set.

FOURTH - If none of this works or all of it is just too frustrating and you want to say "screw it!" (and I can hardly blame you, lol), then just make sure you've liked my FB page or are following me on Twitter, or are a member of the JWH Connection fan forum. This is because EVERY MONTH I will post the latest newsletter link on all three of those, to make sure it reaches the widest number of people possible! It's the same link monthly, so if you want, just put as one of your Favorites. You can click on it anytime to see if an update has been posted. I post a new one every 30-45 days, give or take a few days.
